==History==
Over the course of its history, the name of the newsletter had many changes. In its first issue, it was called '''FLP News''', its second issue it was called '''Free Libertarian Party News''', and its third issue was called '''Free Libertarian.''' A new logo was created and used in the newsletters starting in 1974, and the name continued to be "Free Libertarian" until the March 1980 issue. In April 1980, it was referred to as '''Newsletter''' with "Free Libertarian Party" listed in the header. In early 1983, it was known as '''FLP Insider''' and by June 1983, it was known as '''FLP News''' once again. As early as 1994, the newsletter was known as '''Free New York''', while there was an unofficial '''The Free Press of New York''' in circulation from September 1995 to May 1996, when the Editor of both, Jeff Russell, only continued with Free New York beginning in June 1996. The newsletter was known by that name for the rest of its history through December 2009. After that, there was a long period of time in which the LPNY did not have an official newsletter.
