Upon the formation of the Transition Committee, mired in controversy, a meeting was set by Larry Sharpe to be held on January 27, 2019. However, Sharpe cancelled the meeting on January 25, 2019. Michael Dowden, LPNY Treasurer, continue to pursue the originally scheduled meeting, inviting all members of the committee. In the background, there was an effort by members of the committee to urge others not to attend.
The meeting occurred and 9 members were in attendence with two observers. Dowden conducted the meeting, collecting votes on determing the type of meeting that was present. Kolstee kept unofficial minutes. The following morning, Dowden sent a summary of the meeting:
<blockquote>
The Transition Committee conducted a very calm and orderly official meeting this evening. While attendance was good, several of the announced candidates for chairman were not present. Thus, we did not conduct an election for chairman. There were productive discussions concerning future courses of action. The next meeting will be held at a date to be determined after polling members about their availability.
