There was a Brooklyn Borough Libertarian Party in the early 1970s. A Libertarian Party in Kings County was formed on October 16, 1999 under the leadership of [[Matt Siegel]], but after a couple of years of inactivity, it was dechartered by the State Committee on June 23, 2001. Later, the [[Brooklyn-Queens Libertarian Party]] was formed that included both Kings and Queens Counties.
