The Louisiana State Libertarian Party only gained official party status in 2004. Since then, registered voters have been able to register as a Libertarian. As of August 3, there are 3,482 registered Libertarians in Louisiana. In addition, there is another 3,000 affiliated members that are not registered. The party took on an ambitious goal in 2007 that would increase the number of registered Libertarians in Louisiana to 40,000 by the end of 2011. | |||
