Raymond "Ray" Goldfield (June 24, 1944—July 2, 1991) was a founding member of the Libertarian Party of New York.
Biography
Goldfield was born on June 24, 1944 in Brooklyn, New York, a son of Frank and Beckie (Pecker) Goldfield.[1] He attended Stuyvesant High School in New York City. He was a member of Arista and received both the Gold Scholarship Certificate and a French Certificate. He served on the Big Brother Committee, was an officer and class vice-president, and participated in the Russian Club and Math Team. After graduation, he planned to study medicine at Yale. He lived at 45 South Elliott Place in Brooklyn. He graduating from the school in 1961.[2]
Goldfield was involved in the Libertarian Party of New York in the 1970s. On April 22, 1972, he was on a committee to assist the first Temporary Chair, Edward Clark. He also served as the first newsletter editor. He was also involved in the Brooklyn Libertarian Party, serving as Representative for Brooklyn to the State Committee as early as 1973 and as late as 1977.
Goldfield married Nava Carmel in 1978 in New York City. They later lived in New Jersey. He died on July 2, 1991 in New Brunswick, New Jersey at the age of 44.
