Biography

Career

Thompson is a full-stack software developer.[1] He has also worked at TaylorMade Communications and Scouting America.[1] Thompson is based in Alexandria, Louisiana.[1]

Libertarian Party

Thompson became active in the Libertarian Party during the 2010s, taking on communications and organizational roles in Louisiana. He has been described as a graphic artist who channels libertarian values into political imagery for the Libertarian Party of Louisiana.[2]

Thompson served as Communications Officer for the Libertarian Party of Louisiana from 2016 to 2022,[3] when he was succeeded by Jeremy Breaux. He subsequently served as the District 5 Representative on the Louisiana state central committee from 2022 to 2023.[4]

Thompson designed the Torch Eagle Logo, the modified eagle emblem featuring flames and animation that became part of the Libertarian Party's official branding.[5] The logo created distinct branding for the Party separate from the generic Statue of Liberty imagery, though the Statue remains an accepted symbol within the Party's style guidelines.[5]

From 2024 to 2026, Thompson served as the Region 3 South alternate representative to the Libertarian National Committee.[6] On February 2, 2025, following the election of Paul Darr as LNC Vice Chair, Thompson was elevated to the full Region 3 South Representative seat.[6] He served in that capacity until the 2026 Libertarian National Convention, where he was elected to an At-Large seat on May 25, 2026.[7]

Thompson volunteers with the Historical Preservation Committee, assisting with tape conversion, and contributes graphic design work to the national party's Facebook page.[8] He also serves on the Libertarian National Committee's Advertising & Publication Review Committee and Platform Committee.[7]
