Active Initiatives
Anti-RealID Legislation
The LPWV is currently working on an initiative to help lobby for legislation at the state level opposing the RealID. This has been successful in several states so far including South Carolina and Maine. As always, we can use your help with making this initiative come to fruition!
Candidate Recruiting
The LPWV is looking for candidates in the state of West Virginia to run for state and local offices. To quote G. Edward Griffin, why fight city hall when you can BE city hall? Will you be city hall? Contact us if you're interested! We are especially seeking a 2008 gubernatorial candidate to help us achieve major party status in the state for the next four years.
Member Recruiting
After a reformation of the party complete with new bylaws and a new executive board, we're looking to expand. Are you interested in membership? Do you know someone who is? Are you willing to make a contribution? If so, please contact me via mdh@solitox.net - I'd love to hear from you. We are actively seeking contributors to help get our party back off of the ground. Come and be a part of LPWV's future success story today!
Our new bylaws offer two levels of membership. Associate membership is a non-voting membership and has no annual dues. All you need to do is fill out a quick form and sign off on accepting the Libertarian Party statement of principles! Voting membership carries an annual dues of $20 due August 1st each year.

August 25th meeting in Weston, WV
Our meeting at LCHS in Weston on the 25th concluded with a new set of bylaws being approved, and a new slate of officers being elected. We also collected well over $100 in membership fees from new members. Jim Lark was in attendance, and assisted us by serving as chair for the meeting.
August 11th meeting in Weston, WV
All interested parties are urged to attend an organizational meeting to adopt bylaws and elect officers of the LPWV. We will meet at 1:00 pm on Saturday, August 11, in Weston. The meeting will be at Lewis County High School, in the cafeteria, which is straight through the front doors and ahead on the right.
To get to LCHS, take exit 96 off I-79, turn right (from either north or south), and proceed about a quarter mile to the stop sign. The entrance to the school is straight across the intersection.
