Libertarian Party of New York Rules Committee
The Libertarian Party of New York's Rules Committee is tasked with reviewing and recommending amendments to the party rules. The committee has existed in various forms over the history of the party. On November 11, 2019, a committee was started by the State Committee called the "Party Rules Committee." This committee was dissolved on June 2, 2019. A new Rules Committee was established in 2019.
History
The first mention of any bylaws or rules committee was in the September 1973 issue of the Free Libertarian Newsletter, in which Bob Cassella was appointed chair to replace Paul Lepanto.
The committee existed in different ways over the years, including a committee in 2015 that discussed bylaws after an in-person meeting in Utica, and the FLP bylaws were amended for a final time in 2016.
A Party Rules Committee was established in November 2018, and existed in different capacities afterward. Currently, the committee is chaired by Paul Grindle.
