William K. "Bill" Schmidt is the current Secretary of the Libertarian Party of New York. He resigned effective November 1, 2019.

Politics
Schmidt was involved in the Libertarian Party in the 1970s. He was involved in the campaigns of Guy Riggs and Sandy Cohen.
Later, he ran for Peekskill City Council in 1997 and 2001 as a Republican.
In 2007, he ran for Mayor of Peekskill Republican, Conservate, Independence, and Libertarian lines.
In 2019, he was elected Secretary of the Libertarian Party of New York.
