The Cattaraugus County Libertarian Party is a former affiliate of the Libertarian Party of New York.
History
There were attempts to for an affiliate by Temporary County Chairs Jeremy Kasperek (2017) and Shannon Gates (2017—2018). However, it was nto until Luke Wenke was appointed Temporary County Chair on August 5, 2018 when there was success, which was also during the Larry Sharpe campaign for Governor in 2018, in which Wenke was active.
The affilaite held their first official convention on December 29, 2018 at Perkins in Olean. Their first officers were Wenke as Chair, along with Matt Peterson-Volz as Vice-Chair, Michele Ball as Secretary, and Rich Herner is Treasurer. The State Committee voted for official affiliation in March 2019. In May 2019, they held a convention to form an Interim County Organization, and were confirmed by the Interim State Committee on June 2, 2019.
Peyton Kunselman resigned as Chair on March 31, 2021 and the affiliate failed to be certified on March 31, 2021, and was effectively dissolved.
