There was a Brooklyn Borough Libertarian Party in the early 1970s. A Kings County Libertarian Party was formed on October 16, 1999 under the leadership of [[Matt Siegel]], but after a couple of years of inactivity, it was dechartered by the State Committee on June 23, 2001. Later, the [[Brooklyn-Queens Libertarian Party]] was formed that included both Kings and Queens Counties.
The first mention of Libertarian Party activity in Brooklyn occurred in the October 1972 issue of the Free Libertarian newsletter. By December 1, 1972, the '''Brooklyn Libertarian Party Caucus (BLPC)''' was chartered. They held meetings on the first Wednesday of each month at different addresses. The Brooklyn Libertarian Party is an affiliate of the Libertarian Party of New York. It was established on May 17, 2009.

History

The first mention of Libertarian Party activity in Brooklyn occurred in the October 1972 issue of the Free Libertarian newsletter. By December 1, 1972, the Brooklyn Libertarian Party Caucus (BLPC) was chartered. They held meetings on the first Wednesday of each month at different addresses. By Janaury 1973, George Borecky also served as a contact. The club was chartered in early 1973. The first officers were elected on February 21, 1973: Gloria Johnson as Chair, Ray Goldfield as State Committee representative.
