The Brooklyn Libertarian Party is an affiliate of the Libertarian Party of New York. It was established on May 17, 2009.

History

There was a Brooklyn Borough Libertarian Party in the early 1970s. A Libertarian Party in Kings County was formed on October 16, 1999 under the leadership of Matt Siegel, but after a couple of years of inactivity, it was dechartered by the State Committee on June 23, 2001. Later, the Brooklyn-Queens Libertarian Party was formed that included both Kings and Queens Counties.

In 2019, it became an Interim County Organization and was chartered as such on October 27, 2019.
