Mary J. Ruwart, PhD, is a highly respected Libertarian writer and activist.

She was the Libertarian Party of Texas nominee for US Senate in 2000.

There has been more than one push to make Mary Ruwart the nominee for US President, from 1983 to the six-ballot 2008 nomination barely won by Bob Barr.

She presently is serving another term on the Libertarian National Committee and has served on the boards of the International Society for Individual Liberty and the Fully Informed Jury Association. She has been a part of the Michigan chapter of the Heartland Institute.
