 Campus Organizing,

Instructor: James W. Lark III

The Campus Organizing course will discuss a variety of topics that will help students build successful Libertarian organizations on college campuses. In particular, the course will discuss setting goals, developing strategy and tactics, the fundamentals of starting and building a group, and communicating Libertarian ideas on college campuses.
Candidate Recruitment, Instructor: Samuel P. New

The Candidate Recruitment course is designed to equip affiliate party leaders with the know-how to recruit highly-effective and viable candidates for public office. The course topics will include the importance of recruiting good candidates, the essential steps to recruiting good candidates, the art of persuading people to run for public office, and the important points to remember when approaching prospective candidates. Scott Lieberman will also appear as a guest instructor.
Campaign Management, The Campaign Management course is designed to equip Libertarian Party candidates and their campaign staffs with the basics that will help them run professional, effective, and successful campaigns. The content will cover fundamental topics such as the importance of developing media relations, registering with the appropriate officials, how to obtain a campaign staff, and how to conduct professional campaign operations.

Media Communications, Instructor: Joe Giganti

The Media Communications class is designed to give Libertarian Party candidates the know-how that is essential to run an effective media operation in a political campaign. From the basics of writing a press release to successful techniques for radio and television interviews, this course will prepare students to “manage’ the media rather than being manipulated by the media.


Campaign Fundraising,

The Campaign Fundraising course is designed to equip Libertarian Party candidates and campaign staffs with the tools that they will need to raise vital funds to conduct an effective political campaign. The course will cover the fundamental operations of direct mail including writing and editing copy and interfacing with a mail house and print shop. The course will also cover various other aspects of fundraising including phone solicitations, live solicitations, and cultivating relationships with potential major donors.
Member Recruitment and Instructor: Samuel P. New

The Member Recruitment elective course is designed to help LP affiliates, campaign staff, members, and anyone else who might be interested recruit new members for the Libertarian Party. The course will delve into the power of persuasion and key points of argument for becoming a Libertarian. The focus of the class will be the steps the individuals can take to grow both the national LP and affiliate groups.



Blogging, Instructor: Matt Dailey

The Blogging Elective course is designed to provide Libertarian Party members, as well as members of the general public, with the fundamentals necessary to create an electronic web log, or more commonly known as a blog. Both the technical aspects and content development will be discussed in this course. By the end of the six-week course, students will have their own effective blog, live on the Internet.
