John Deane was Chair of the Libertarian Party of New York in 1976. He was from Schenectady.
Biography
John Deane was from Schenectady, and served as the State Representative from the Capital District Libertarian Party during the 1975-1976 term. He was also elected 4th Alternate Delegate for the National Convention 1976, in the third round of voting at the 1975 State Convention. At the State Convention on March 28, 1976, he was elected Chair of the Libertarian Party of New York. He received 36 votes, having run against Gary Greenberg and Lee Schubert. Deane served as State Chair until November 14, 1976. He also served as a Presidential Elector for the 1976 general election for Roger MacBride.
