National Convention

The first National Convention was held in Denver, Colorado. Ed Clark was elected as national vice chair.

State Parties

• The Libertarian Party of Georgia was founded.
• The Libertarian Party of Massachusetts was founded in September with Paul Siegler as chair.
• The New Jersey Libertarian Party was founded on the 6th of October
• The Oklahoma Libertarian Party was founded in April.
• The Libertarian Party of Washington was founded.
• The Libertarian Party of Michigan was founded with Stuart Weiner as chair.
