Gary Edward Johnson has served multiple terms on the Libertarian National Committee since 1983 and the Texas SLEC. He has run as the LP nominee for U. S. Senate in Texas in 1990. He has also served with the Travis County Libertarian Party. He currently serves as the SLEC's representative for District 21, and is almost certainly the longest serving member of the SLEC.
