Biography
John Deane was from Schenectady, and served as the State Representative from the Capital District Libertarian Party during the 1975-1976 term. At the State Convention on March 28, 1976, he was elected Chair of the Libertarian Party of New York. He received 36 votes, having run against Gary Greenberg and Lee Schubert. Deane served as State Chair until November 14, 1976.
