Rodriguez initially ran as a Democrat in the 2022 congressional election for Colorado's 8th Congressional District. He switched his party affiliation to run as a Republican on February 24, 2022. He later declared candidacy as a Libertarian in the election for Colorado's 4th Congressional District.
