Americans for Prosperity, commonly known as AFP, is a 501(c)(4) political advocacy organization and a successor to Citizens for a Sound Economy. [1] [2] It is part of the Stand Together network and is popularly known for its links to Charles Koch and his late brother, 1980 LP Vice Presidential nominee David Koch. [3] [4] The organization is commonly classified as libertarian or conservative (or sometimes both). [5]
Emily Seidel, a former industry executive for Koch, is the organization's CEO. [6] She replaced Luke Hilgemann in 2017. [7]
Tim Phillips was the organization's long-time President, serving from 2006 until being removed in 2021. [8]
