The Libertarian National Convention is held in New York City.

Roger MacBride was nominated for the US Presidency. He was the adopted grandson of libertarian author Rose Wilder Lane and the former Republican elector who gave his vote to Hospers and Nathan instead of Nixon and Agnew.

None of the declared candidates for Vice President, including John Vernon and Jim Trotter were able to win a majority of votes. David Bergland was contacted and flew in to the convention to be nominated as Roger MacBride's running mate.


State Parties

The Libertarian Party of Idaho is founded.
The Libertarian Party of Iowa is founded.

James Hudler is elected chair of the Libertarian Party of Michigan.
