From February 1972 through the first convention in June 1972, the Party was governed by an appointed Temporary Executive Committee. This Committee was appointed by the Steering Committee of the Libertarian Party on the basis of regional representation, past achievements and degree of enthusiasm for the LP concept, in addition to a determined effort to make sure all age-groups and philosop?hical schools were represented according to their strength in the Party.
