Kenneth Reed Armstrong (Born April 25, 1957) is a former United States Coast Guard commissioned officer[1][2] who is currently a candidate for the Libertarian Party's presidential nomination in the 2020 United States presidential election.[3][4]

Armstrong's Coast Guard career included serving as a NATO base commander and as a NATO/United Nations advisor in the Bosnian War.[4] He was also a representative to the Pelagie Islands for the U.S. Consul General at Palermo.[3][5]

Outside of his military career, Armstrong has been a nonprofit executive,[6][7] columnist for Pacific Business News, and an elected official in Honolulu County, Hawaii.[6][4]

Armstrong announced in March 2019 that he had formed a exploratory committee to consider a run for the 2020 Libertarian nomination for President of the United States.[8]  In May of that year, he officially announced his candidacy.[9][3][10]
