The 1972 Platform was the first Platform approved by an LP national convention. Building on the Temporary Platform distributed as part of the organizing effort that led to the first convention, it included planks on many issues that are still relevant today, and a basic structure that lasted for many decades.
Chuck Moulton (b. March 5, 1979) is a libertarian activist, attorney, economist, old school gamer, and geek from Pennsylvania.

It was the first to include the Statement of Principles, by that name and with wording very close to what we still have today.
He was Vice-Chair of the LNC from 2006 to 2008. He also was Chair of the Pennsylvania LP, the Virginia LP, the national LP Bylaws Committee, and the national LP Judicial Committee.

Other notable positions included the repeal of all laws creating "crimes without victims", opposition to all forms of censorship, support of the right to own gold (which was illegal at the time), opposition to the draft, and support of the right of secession.

He created the LP Facebook page, which currently has over 700,000 likes.
