Michele Poague is an author and business manager from Aurora, Colorado. From 2003-2005 and in 2008 she was the Fundraising Director for the Libertarian Party of Colorado, and was also state chair in 1996.

In 2012 and 2016, Poague ran for the 29th District of the Colorado State Senate as the Libertarian nominee. She would finish third on both ballots.

On March 26, 2018, Poague was nominated at the 2018 Colorado Convention to run as Scott Helker's Lieutenant Governor in the 2018 Colorado Gubernatorial Election.
