By an extraordinary confluence of events, the [[Historical Preservation Committee|Libertarian Party Historical Preservation Committee]] has come to be in possession of the original typed draft copy of the [[Statement of Principles]] as written by [[John Hospers]].  Originally, LPedia had housed a poor scan of this document from an unknown source and the location of the original had been unknownThis scan can be viewed below at the highest resolution that existed.
Libertarians have been active in Santa Clara County since the very
earliest days of the LP, and the county group includes among its members
two former National Chairs.   


On August 4, 2017, [[Caryn Ann Harlos]] was randomly checking eBay for historical Libertarian Party items and saw that the original typed document was being offered for sale. Excitement ensued.  Several known LP historical enthusiasts were bidding but it seemed at the last minute an unknown bidder snapped the item up at $430.00.  
Activities in recent years have included outreach booths at public events, providing arguments in the county voter pamphlet opposing tax and bond measures, participating in parades, holding an informal monthly coffee meeting open to the public, and making public statements providing a libertarian perspective on actions being considered by local governments.

Libertarians have been active in Santa Clara County since the very earliest days of the LP, and the county group includes among its members two former National Chairs.
