Timothy Justice is a Libertarian writer and speaker from Lefors, Texas. In 2006, Timothy made his first run for public office, finishing with 15% of the vote in the Texas House District 88 race against Warren Chisum.
Background
Timothy Justice was born in Marion, Indiana on May 7, 1970. He travelled throughout much of the United States growing up, but spent most of his formative years in Enid, Oklahoma, where he graduated high school in 1988.
In 1992, Justice moved to Wisconsin, where he met and married Amy Ruth Johnson on April 17, 1995. They have six children to date.
Justice grew up in a staunch Democratic family, and in his early years, Justice followed suit. Towards the end of the 1990's, Justice grew disenfranchised with the Democratic Party, of which he had never officially been a member, and began taking a hard look at other parties. Justice's involvement with the Free State Project led him to take a serious look at the Libertarian Party, and in 2003, he made the move.
In the fall of 2004, Justice and his family moved to Lefors, Texas. Because there was no organized county party, Justice set out to start one and was appointed chair of the party in July of 2005, a position he held until November before resigning and turning it over to his wife, Amy, so that he could run for office. Justice ran on the platform of "Family, Freedom, Future", and became the first person to contest the office of District 88 State Representative in a general election in 18 years.
Timothy Justice's family homeschool their children, and are active advocates against the "nanny state"'s push towards a more socialist view of child rearing. Timothy works in the IT field, and is currently pursuing a degree in network administration.
