Thomas (Tom) A. Bagwell has been active with the Libertarian Party of Michigan and Libertarian Politics since 2002. In 2004 and 2006 Bagwell ran unsuccessfully for the Ypsilanti, MI City Council receiving 17% and 10% of the vote respectively.
In 2008 Bagwell was elected to the Ypsilanti Township Park Commission but had to resign due to moving out of the Township and for personal reasons.
