This page serves as a place to request and discuss deletions.
Overview
- A. General
- 1. This outlines the procedures for requesting the deletion of a page on LPedia.
- 2. While administrators may delete spam, repair vandalism, or remove material from certain pages for maintenance purposes, and also may move or combine pages as part of their general editorial work, the complete deletion of the contents of a page or other significant amount of ordinary material should be preceded by an open discussion.
- B. Process
- 1. Fill out the request form below to create a deletion discussion.
- 2. Once the discussion is created, fill out the form on the resulting page.
- 3. A discussion will occur, centered on that particular page.
- 4. Participants in the discussion can choose whether the page should be deleted, kept, merged, redirected, etc.
- C. Closing discussions
- 1. Only administrators can close deletion discussions, as they are the ones with the ability to delete pages.
- 2. If a discussion closes and the result is deletion, the page can be redirected to another article if the closer finds is a useful redirect.
- 3. Deletion discussions should last a minimum of seven (7) days.
- 4. Exceptions
- i. If a deletion discussion does not receive a consensus, the discussion can be closed as "no consensus" and the page is kept.
- ii. If the page in question is a spam page, the deletion discussion may be closed immediately, and the page can be deleted.
- iii. The creator of a deletion discussion may withdraw their discussion at their sole discretion.
- iv. Deletions can also occur upon a majority of Historical Preservation Committee members exercising veto power or upon the prerogative of the HPC chair. All deletions done under this power will have open discussion on the deletion discussion and will be reported in the next Historical Preservation Committee report.
Request Form
