John Paden ("J.P.") Wilson is a Libertarian activist who serves as the National Chairman of the Libertarian Youth Caucus. He was a founding member of the South Carolina branch of the Libertarian Youth Caucus, and was part of its expansion to three active caucuses in the state. He first became active in the LP during his senior year of High School as part of the Gary Johnson Campaign for President. Wilson is a Quaker and a pacifist. He considers his main influences to be Leo Tolstoy, Henry David Thoreau, Abraham Maslow, George Fox, and Benjamin Franklin. An amateur trumpet player, Wilson marched with the Fort Mill High School Marching Band from 2013 to 2016 and the University of Central Florida Marching Knights in 2017
