Wayne Allyn Root was the 2008 Vice Presidential nominee for the Libertarian Party. He ran for Libertarian National Committee Chair in 2010 and served as an At Large member from 2010-2012.

In July 2010 Root was elected chair of the Libertarian National Congressional Committee.[1] In September of 2012 Root left the Libertarian Party for the Republican Party.[2]
