Diana Amsden was the interim chair of the Libertarian Party of New Mexico in 1972. At the 1972 National Convention in Denver, she was elected secretary for the National Party and was nominated for Vice-President but pleaded with the convention to choose Tonie Nathan instead. Amsden submitted a proposal for the original Statement of Principles which was highly influenced by objectivism.
