Franklin Gonzalez is a registered Republican in the City of New York who briefly served as the Communications Director of the Libertarian Party of Queens County. Prior to serving with the Queens LP, Gonzalez served as a Communications Manager for the 2017 Nicole Malliotakis GOP Mayoral Campaign in New York.
He worked indirectly alongside LPQC's new Chairman Christopher R. Fuentes-Padilla and his former Administrative Director, Fred Nezami on Election Night.
Following a disagreement with the libertarian platforms for immigration and the drug war, he was removed by the County Operations Committee, who out voted the County Executive Committee on February 20, 2018 with a overwhelming 13-1 with Queens Chairman Christopher R. Fuentes-Padilla abstaining from the vote. The announcement further pushed a short lived "Facebook War" between the Queens County GOP and the Queens County LP that lasted three days and ended in Facebook barring further interaction between the two pages on February 24, 2018. Since then the two organizations have reconciled and are interacting on social media and in person.
