National Convention
The first National Convention was held in Denver, Colorado. Ed Clark was elected as national vice chair.
State Parties
- The Libertarian Party of Georgia was founded.
- The New Jersey Libertarian Party was founded on the 6th of October
- The Libertarian Party of New York was founded.
- The Oklahoma Libertarian Party was founded in April.
- The Libertarian Party of Washington was founded.
- The Libertarian Party of Michigan was founded with Stuart Weiner as chair.
