Ernie Whiteside is a Libertarian activist who has served in Texas and Michigan and written a number of political articles. He has a professional background in medical technology and software sales.

He was secretary of the Denton County Libertarian Party from 2000-2002 and elected chair at the 2002 county convention. He served on the Texas State Libertarian Executive Committee from 2001-2002.

He relocated in early 2003 and has been active with the Libertarian Party of Michigan, running for the State Board of Education in 2004.
