Thomas A. "Tom" Bagwell has been active with the Libertarian Party of Michigan and Libertarian Politics since 2002. In 2004 and 2006 Bagwell ran unsuccessfully for the Ypsilanti, MI City Council receiving 17% and 10% of the vote respectively.

In 2008, Bagwell was elected to the Ypsilanti Township Park Commission but had to resign due to moving out of the Township and for personal reasons.

Bagwell has also served multiple times on the Libertarian Party of Michigan Executive Committee(LEC) and has served as an Officer of the Libertarian Party of Washtenaw County, MI.

In the 2012 election cycle, Bagwell was a Volunteer Regional Coordinator with the Ron Paul(R-TX) Presidential Campaign.

Bagwell now resides in Wyandotte, MI and works as a Finance Manager. He still maintains an interest in local politics sometimes contributes articles to Opinion Blogs on local and national issues.
