Richard L. "Dick" Randolph (born April 10, 1936) became the first Libertarian in state office with his election to the Alaska House of Representatives in 1978. He was re-elected in 1980 and was instrumental in the repeal of the state income tax. He ran unsuccessfully for Governor of Alaska in 1982.
