The Libersign was the first official logo of the Libertarian Party used in combination with the acronym "Tanstaffl" (pronounced TAN-STAFF-FUL) which means "There Ain't No Such Thing as a Free Lunch." It was designed by Libertarian Party member John James. It was trademarked in December 1971 or January 1972.
