David Valente, born in Warwick, New York in 1973 to Victorio Francis Valente, Sr. of Passaic, NJ and Anita Carol Stearns, of Clyde, ND.

Biography

David is a humorist and should not be editing his own LPedia page, but here goes. David Valente (yes I talk about myself in the 3rd person) was born in New York, raised in North Carolina and New Mexico. He graduated from Highland High School in Albuquerque, New Mexico. He attended Eastern New Mexico University, showing an interest in communications. He did not study here, which is why he does not have a degree from ENMU. After entering the workforce, David moved from New Mexico for a year in St Louis, Missouri. During his time here, he met his future wife (& Saint) Alia who lived in Georgia. He moved to Georgia and began heavy involvement in local GOP politics, (yeah I cringe typing that too) during the time the state flipped from blue to red.

While working full time in the computer industry and newly-wed, David returned to school, he studied International Affairs at Kennesaw State University. Hooty Hoo! His concentration started as Post Communist Europe but soon moved to the Middle East research. He joined the Model Arab League team and won multiple outstanding delegate and chair awards at regional and national competitions. Soon after graduating he found a graduate program in Diplomacy online through Norwich University. He finished his Masters degree in 2008. Another day older and deeper in debt. He went to work for the Federal Government as the real-life Ron Swanson. Having left the GOP over the Gulf War, he found the LP through his former governor Gary Johnson and joined in August 2012. He helped form the Gwinnett County Libertarians in 2013.

In 2013, David moved to the Washington, DC area and became involved in the local LP affiliate, the Libertarian Party of Northern Virginia. David has long said, attend libertarian events, win libertarian prizes and those prizes usually involve offices and responsibility. He was elected Vice-Chair of LP NOVA in 2013 and assumed the chair role when the previous chair moved in 2014. He served as Chair, Vice-Chair and At-Large member of LP NOVA in his 4 years of involvement with the affiliate. He was also elected as Virginia's 8th District chairman in 2014 and served on the Executive Committee of the Libertarian Party of Virginia from 2014 - 2017. He was a delegate to the Libertarian National Convention 2016. After the convention, he worked in social media for the Johnson/Weld campaign.

In 2017, Dave moved to Martinsburg, WV. He still works in DC which makes for a long commute into the office. He was elected in April 2019 to be Chair of LPWV on promised to build the infrastructure of the LP in the state with a focus on local affiliate organization.
