The Libertarian Party Secular Caucus was founded in 2018, at the National Convention in New Orleans with assistance from the Secular Coalition for America.
The purpose of the caucus is to facilitate a discussion within the Libertarian Party for applying Libertarian principles to public policy, while also rejecting any theocratic influence within government law.
Brandon Phinney was elected to be the founding Chaiman, Elizabeth Van Horn the founding Vice Chair, and Arthur M Thomas IV the founding Secretary.
